You can’t possibly run enough miles in a day, week...

Candice Burt, le texte de sa publication du 30-03-2019 19:47:12 :
You can’t possibly run enough miles in a day, week or month to train for an 800 mile FKT. So how DO you train for 800 miles? Two things are worth considering: 1. Mental/Psychological training and 2. STRENGTH: being as strong as you can be generally, especially core strength. Day after day of extreme running (50-70 miles/day) requires an athlete to be very well rounded. It’s not about speed as much is it is about strength and mental Mindset. You must be strong enough that your body doesn’t break down as the day after day challenges wear away at it. Mentally you must be trained to reframe all negativity into positivity and have a insatiable excitement for what each new day brings. Of course strength and mentality are not good enough on their own. You cannot set an FKT like this if you don’t have some speed as you’d never be able to do enough miles in a day AND get rest. Over the past year I’ve focused on building up my strength through almost daily weight lifting, squats and body weight exercises. I spend up to 10 hrs a week on strength including rowing. For the mental side of things, that’s more complicated to explain all the things I’ve been doing, but simply put, I work on reframing on a daily basis as well as keeping positive in my races. Your mental mindset is like any muscle, you can let it weaken and wither or you can strengthen it by working it on a regular basis. 💪 #runnersofinstagram #trailrunninglife #ultrarunners #humansofultrarunning #weightlifting #strengthtraining #training #kettlebell #core #ultrarunning #ultramarathon
