Are you motivated by self loathing or self love? Do you workout to punish yourself or to compensate for how you feel about your body? Might seem like a weird question but in reality it’s important to identify your motivators so you can control your story. Although loathing is powerful in the short term, it leads to long term problems like injuries, burnout and unhappiness. To affect real change, foster consistency and happiness we have to love and appreciate our bodies. We are the only person who we can count on for unconditional love. It’s not selfish to appreciate your body, it’s a basic requirement for having compassion for the world. You can’t love others while hating yourself.
