Tour of Taiwan 2nd stage report: PODIUM FINISH FOR EARLE AND...

Tour of Taiwan 2nd stage report:

In the last km of the uphill finish , Our Tasmanian Nathan Earle could see really good chance to win.

But then ...

Nathan : “The last corner was sharp and I took it first but a little fast. On the exit in the final to the line the winner and I touched and my front wheel came loose.“

That had a cost. He had to settle with 3rd but he was not really dissatisfied . Nathan Endured a rough start of the season when a road accident back home has set him
Back. But he came to his first race of the season sharp and hungry.

“I’m happy with 3rd “ he said. “ And I am specially happy with how we preformed As a team here. We covered well from the start and and then team manzana controlled to the climb. It was a tough finish with 3 climbs but lots of uncategorised climbs in between and direction changes. The guys road well. We controlled the attacks well. I tried my luck with lots of attacks but no luck and it came to that 3rd place sprint”.

“ The team is strong and we feel ready to fight for GC in the last 3 tough stages .”

The chance is definitely there. Looking at the chart below, Nathan is sitting 6 sec behind with Israeli Guy Niv- and Daniel Turek ( strong) close behind ( 10 sec). So all open.

Guy: “ I finished with the winner time but I missed that “kick” I liked to have a significant impact. Happy that we have so many cards left in the next stages. Yalla”!
