Bad news for Elmar Reinders: he had to abandon the European Championships road race with back pain after he was hit from behind. He'll visit his physiotherapist tomorrow for a check-up.

Stijn Steels will replace him in the BinckBank Tour, which kicked off tonight with a team presentation in Hulst.
