Really enjoyed being back running yesterday! I ran in the Canterbury cross country race at Halswell Quarry, which was my first race back since my injury- Christchurch produced a great day for it. Was a great return back, winning the Women's 20-22 and senior women's age group races. Great to have plenty of support on the side line. Also loved watching the younger kids that I coach run so well :)
It was my first time running 8km for cross country, which was a good intro before stepping up again to 10km at nationals in a couple of weeks. The main thing was that I had no pain at all before, during and after which I was extremely happy with. It was a big step forward for me in my recovery- all the patience of not being able to run and getting into that pool instead has paid off. Now looking forward to getting out there again for nationals in Auckland 👊🏻

Here's a photo of Gab and I after our race, both happy to come out of it pain free!
