Ruth Croft, le texte de sa publication du 24-02-2019 07:36:30 :
Last night in Greymouth was the book launch for Josh Komen’s book “The Wind at my Back”. A big part of Josh’s story started when he was 23. He was one of New Zealand’s top 800m runners when he was diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukemia. Josh beat the cancer only for him to go into remission a year later. What followed was a bone marrow transplant, trigeminal neuralgia, heart attacks, and GVHD (graft vs host disease). 8 years later and he is still receiving treatment in Australia today. His story is not just about cancer though, it’s about the purpose of suffering, and how we often can’t control the direction life takes us, but we can control what we do with what we have. Thank you Josh for your friendship and always putting things into perspective for me. The lessons you have taught me. Your story reminds us all what is really important in life. I’m excited to see where this next chapter will take you.
