2018 was the year of committing. In every race I went into, I had a plan and mantra that didn’t let me have any excuses.
-US Cross 3rd place: don’t think, commit when the move is made even if you’re scared and on edge.
-Gasparilla Half Marathon 2nd place in a sprint finish: wait for the hurt, it will come. Embrace it and fight valiantly every step to the finish.
-USA Track 10,000m 3rd place: commit the last mile, last 800, even if you blow, give yourself a shot.
-Peachtree US 10k Champs: be ready to go out faster than you ever have. Keep the foot on the gas, it’s not over until it’s over.
-CIM 2nd place, PR: you might feel bad very early on. You’ve done the work, it make take guts over fitness the last 10 miles.
I committed to the very hard and scary parts of races that you doubt and question if you’ll make it. I learned a lot about how deep I could dig. Look forward to finding out what 2019 will be about. #timetofly #nazelite #keepittight #sleepfuels #flagstaff #hokaoneone #journeywithsteph
